Danielle Redford - Founder

Field Kit is the brainchild of Danielle Redford, a producer from Brisbane, Queensland, Australia.

Danielle’s worked in the screen industry since 2011 in roles including sales, acquisitions, marketing, teaching, lecturing and production. She’s a producer of screen, podcast and commercial content.

Part of that producing work means Danielle is constantly working alongside creatives of all kinds.

In writer’s rooms, developing scripts and series bibles. In pitch prep and development for broadcasters and commissioners. In business development across products and services. In problem-solving, big and small. In staring at the sun, hoping the weather holds for the shoot. In rallying teams of dozens to deliver on time and on budget. In evolving ideas from a ‘what if’ into a real-life experience that can be consumed by an audience. In overcoming limiting beliefs and pitching products to market. In figuring out the next steps for a collaborator to get past a creative block. In identifying new avenues to market. In building marketing plans for national releases. In unpacking client briefs. In the early hours of the morning and in the midnight deadline highs.
Across the past decade, she’s seen some things. These experiences have led to a constant search for the tools that can make the difference between giving up, packing in and moving on, or going for another round in the ol’ creative tension tussle. The results of the decision to go again? Worth it. The tools and resources? Often ridiculously hard to find.

Enter Field Kit: a home for directly applicable tools, resources, and insights from across the creative sphere that contributes to measurable outcomes for all kinds of makers and practitioners, drawn from years of work at the coal face and learnings from some of the very best in the industry.

In 2020, Danielle was named a Screen Producers Association of Australia 2020 Ones To Watch. She’s produced documentary series for the ABC, scripted fictional podcast series for Audible, Fremantle Australia and Princess Pictures, had short films premiere at Flickerfest, Cannes Film Festival, Byron Bay International Film Festival and Screamfest, received development and production investment for television projects, short-form content and podcasts from Stan and Screen Queensland, produced commercials for national Australian luxury brands and services, worked with emerging virtual production technologies and negotiated global sales for independent Australian feature film content. She convenes and lectures in the areas of Screen Producing and Screen Distribution at Griffith Film School across undergraduate and postgraduate cohorts. She’s currently developing a slate of long-form projects with a number of Australian writers, directors and producers across screen and audio formats.
